Cuccidati, also known as Buccellati, is a Sicilian fig and date-filled cookie that is a holiday tradition. These cookies are made from a rich and tender cookie dough and are filled with the finest ingredients including figs, dates, raisins, almonds and a hint of chocolate and apricot. These might not be the most photogenic to look at, but these cookies are amazingly good!

Bugie (Genova, Torino, Imperia), cenci o crogetti (Toscana), cioffe (Sulmona, centro Abruzzo), chiacchiere (Sicilia, Campania, Lazio, Sardegna, Umbria, Puglia, Calabria e a Milano). cròstoli (Ferrara, Veneto, Trentino, Friuli, Venezia Giulia), fiocchetti (Montefeltro e Rimini), frappe (Roma), galàni (Venezia, Verona, Padova), intrigoni (Reggio Emilia), rosoni o sfrappole (Parma, Modena, Bologna, Romagna), sfrappe (Marche), sprelle (Piacenza, stracci, lasagne, lattughe, pampuglie, manzole- every town in Italy has its own special name for this traditional Italian delicacy. These light, airy fried cookies are a holiday favorite, especially at Carnevale time. This family recipe has been handed down for generations. These Italian cookies are one of our most popular and a family favorite. This is an old-fashion recipe that Nonna perfected that is rich and delicious. These are cakey, soft and a bit crumby. They are available in different flavors. The lemon has a subtle hint of lemon and is topped with lemon icing. If you love lemon, you’ll absolutely love these cookies. The almond is topped with fresh sliced almonds and has a wonderful, delicate nutty taste. The combinati (combination) pairs up almond, chocolate, and chocolate chips in dueling halves. These are wonderful coffee or tea cookies that really make taking a break worthwhile.

These Italian cookies are becoming increasingly popular as a year-round delight! We have taken our classic Italian macaroon, also referred to as amaretti, and added pignoli (pine nuts) that add a rich, nutty flavor. These are crisp and crunchy on the outside, and slightly chewy on the inside. Traditionally we serve our pignoli with a sweet dessert wine or liqueur. These are a great treat for those that have dietary issues as they contain ingredients that are gluten-free.*                                                                                                                                                                                                                            *while the ingredients are all gluten-free, the bakery does operate with other gluten contain ingredients.

The Italian name for macaroons, which means little bitter things, these Italian cookies have a long history. This traditional family recipe is similar to the legendary amaretti di Saronno, where we use a hint of apricot kernel to accent the almond. They are crisp and crunchy on the outside and slightly soft on the inside. Our Ricciarelli cookie recipe is similar to the classic orange-laced Sienese almond paste cookies with a wonderful citrus essence and a delicate crunchiness. While they were once a Christmas delight, these Italian cookies are now enjoyed year-round, paired with dessert wine. The name Biscotti can be translated as “twice-baked.”  Our biscotti come in several flavors and contain no trans fat. We uses only the finest, wholesome ingredients—real butter, real eggs, real chocolate, real flavorings, to produce a cookie that  is rich in flavor, light and crunchy in texture and delicately sweet. Since biscotti are not very sweet, they are a perfect snack at any time of day, whether enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea or dipped into a sweet dessert wine. We make the classic almond biscotti, an anise biscotti, a triple chocolate hazelnut biscotti, and a combinati biscotti that is half triple chocolate hazelnut, half almond. A sugar-less, almond version is also available.

An Italian classic! These unique Italian “waffle” cookies are made from a traditional recipe that has been in the family for generations.
